Tom and Bea Wales
Tom and Bea were diagnosed in January with diabetes and that was just the wake up call they needed. Between the two of them, they have lost a total of 55 pounds since the beginning of January. They have changed their eating habits completely—from eating out almost every day to making healthy meals at home. The Wales have cut out sugar and fried foods, but they thank the Y for a large part of their success. Due to arthritis and other joint issues, the Wales use the pool for exercise. They come to classes during the week and even come to the pool on the days in between. Six visits a week, plus healthier food choices has helped the Wales start their weight loss journey, but more importantly, they both beat diabetes in less than 6 weeks. We are very proud of their success!
